Welcome to Girls on the Run Forsyth! A life changing, non profit prevention program for girls in 3rd to 8th grade.  Our mission is to "prepare girls for a lifetime of selfrespect and healthy living."

Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program that harnesses the power of running to help preteen girls develop self-esteem and a life-long commitment to nutrition, exercise, teamwork and community service. The program combines uplifting life lessons with real workouts, and prepares girls for a 5K run/walk celebration at the end of the season. The Girls on the Run curriculum addresses the development of the ‘whole’ girl--her physical fitness, emotional intelligence, and social awareness. Now, Girls on the Run Forsyth brings this program to Forsyth and Hall counties for the first time. Finally!

GOTR Forsyth offers an experiential learning opportunity for girls in grades 3-5. Girls participate in teams of fifteen, working through a games-based series of 24 lessons. The GOTR Forsyth  season is 12 weeks long, and consists of two hour-long lessons per week. GOTR Forsyth  is available as an after-school or weekend program, running in the fall and the spring: August through November and February through May.

Volunteers from participating locations as well as from local community service agencies, schools and businesses will be trained as coaches. Donations, sponsorships, participant fees and in-kind contributions from several sources make it possible to bring this program to Forsyth and Hall counties.
